Goals:
|
The main objective of the course is the study of the transmission media and techniques used for communication in optical frequency bands. In the course will be studied the different techniques applied in multi-channel transmission through optical fiber. Techniques commonly used in actual systems as well as more advanced techniques in development stage will be explained. Partial objectives: - Basic and advanced concepts of modulation, codification and multiplexation in optical communication systems. - Introduction to multiple access optical systems. - Optical commutation concepts. |
