Goals:
1. To study the incidence and characteristics of the domotic systems and the integral building automation (inmotics) focusing on the technical management of multiple functions related to power saving, security, comfort, communications and the maintenance of the installations.
2. To know the configuration, programming and setting up some of the most used domotic systems and to acquaint the student with the design and the development of a basic project for the integral automation of a house or building based on these systems.
3. To analyze and to construct some practical cases that allow the students to acquire the appropriate skills for their real implementation.

2. Main home/buildding automation systems. Programmable controllers. X10-A10 Power Line Communications. Lonworks technology and KNX-EIB standard. Proprietary solutions

Metodology and Assessment system:
METHODOLOGY
· Theoretical classes: Description of the basic concepts of the subjet and the planning of technological solutions in different scopes of domotics and inmotics.
· Practical classes: Accomplishment of practices with some of the domotic/inmotic systems of extensive use and based on different technologies, including aspects of sensors and actuators connections, programming of controllers and configuration of communication networks and user interfaces. Availability of a domotic model home.
Also it will be possible to visit some automated house and/or building.
ASSESSMENT
Continuous assessment with the accomplishment of some written exams consisting of questions of concise answer and/or tests. Active participation in practical classes will also be taken into account. As a complement, each student must carry out at least a brief report about technological or market aspects of domotics/inmotics.
Finally, in groups of two, students must develop a complete work that includes most of the phases of a domotic/inmotic project.
Each of the mentioned ways of assessment will have a relative weight in the final grade, based on their complexity, extent and other characteristics.
